Rooted in Grassroots Compassion, Dedicated to Egalitarian Progress
Navadoy Seva Niketan (NSN) is a community development non-governmental organisation founded in 1998 and registered in 2001 in West Bengal, India.
Our Guiding Vision
We envision a society where every marginalized individual—regardless of economic background, gender, or social standing—has equal access to education, dignified healthcare, and sustainable livelihood.
Our Core Mission
- Empowering children of migrant brick kiln workers through education
- Building sustainable livelihoods for rural women through vocational trades
- Delivering preventive and curative healthcare to underserved doorsteps
Our Journey & Founding Timeline
Grounded in the factual history documented across our annual reports:
Establishment & Grassroots Inception
Navadoy Seva Niketan was born through the collective determination of community organizers and educators in Howrah to respond to the extreme vulnerabilities faced by seasonal migrant laborers and their children.
Formal Government Registration
NSN received its official registration under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act XXVI of 1961, establishing formal governance, audited reporting, and structured program delivery.
Target Beneficiary Communities
Our interventions focus primarily on:
- Children of seasonal migrant laborers working in brick kiln clusters
- Underprivileged women needing vocational and micro-enterprise skills
- Rural families lacking accessible primary healthcare and sanitation
- Adolescents and youth vulnerable to early school dropout and child labor
- Destitute elderly persons requiring geriatric care and social support
Our Community Development Approach
NSN adheres strictly to a participatory grassroots model:
- Direct Field Presence: Establishing schools and clinics right at the workplace or village doorstep.
- Local Teacher & Volunteer Mobilization: Engaging local educators who understand community dialects and contexts.
- Bridge to Government Systems: Transitioning brick field children into formal government schools.
- Audited Accountability: Ensuring every rupee received is documented in publicly audited statements.
